                            A PANTRY PLEA

With the current economic downturn impacting many families in our community, more folks are lining-up at our Food Pantry each Thursday morning to receive a bag of groceries. Our weekly demand is now averaging upwards of 28 to 32 families. To meet this
growing need, we continue to count on assistance from our parish for canned fruits, vegetables, cereal, and tuna…any and all pantry staples. We welcome your donations of standard-sized containers of all of these items. Next time you do your grocery shopping, be sure to include a few extra of things that you have on your weekly shopping list that can be used to help stock the shelves of our pantry. We also welcome contributions placed in the collection plate marked “Food Pantry”. These contributions go a long way to help us in supporting this important outreach. During 2008, this valuable outreach of our church distributed over 925 bags of food to needy families in our community. Owing to present economic conditions, this year that number may reach upwards of 1500 bags.

We appreciate your continued and loving support of our Food Pantry.
